Every fall, Tri-State and the University of Pittsburgh Athletics Department co-host the NCAA Update, with the support of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League. This workshop is ideal for athletic directors, coaches, guidance counselors, high school principals, and district-level administrators.
Participants will learn about important changes to NCAA rules for initial eligibility and financial aid, NCAA Eligibility Center requirements, non-traditional coursework, recruiting, and other hot topics, as well as WPIAL bylaw updates and AD issues.
This year’s event will be focused on the effects of COVID-19 on college athletics and admissions and scholarships. The event will be presented by a panel of speakers featuring:
- Barry Duerr, Associate Director of Admissions, University of Pittsburgh
- Laura Fink, Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, University of Pittsburgh
- Amy Routt, Associate Director of High School Review, NCAA
- Adam Soles, Associate Athletic Director for Administration, University of Pittsburgh
- Jillian Van Wagnen, Assistant Coach, University of Pittsburgh
Amy Scheuneman, Executive Director of Western PA Interscholastic Athletic League, will close the program with updates from WPIAL.
The session will be recorded and distributed to registrants after the event. Please be sure to send any questions for the panel when registering.
